Other Projects
Junie 2007 het SAMI 'n voertuig geborg, wat Angola toe gegaan het vir 2 weke. Jaco en sy vrou het verskeie dorpies daar aangedoen en was verbaas hoe gedissiplineerd die leerders was. Waar daar nie skole is nie is skool gehou onder bome. Geen kinders het rondgedwaal nie en almal was netjies in wit hempde en grys broeke geklee. Ons het met party van die onderwysers gepraat, maar Portugees is die voertaal. As ons moet skat kan so 5% van die bevolking Engels praat, wat kommunikasie baie moeilik gemaak het. Ons het ook 100 Portugese Bybels aan die kinders uitgedeel.
Hierdie foto is van 'n vissersdorpie(Mariquita), so 50km noord van Namibe (+-100km noord van die Namibie/Angola grens). Hier was nou vir jou 'n op-sy-kop onderwyser.
14-16 September 2007 het SAMI 2 voertuie geborg om te help met die wêreld wye dag vir strande skoon maak. Ons was deel van 'n konfooi, wat die Weskus se strande help opruim het. 'n Paar Konsessiehouers en kinders het behoorlik gesweet om die sakke met vullis vanaf die strande tot by die voertuie te kry. 6 Groot sleepwaens vol vullis is opgetel gedurende die naweek.
